Juliane is a young witch who has been given the important task of guiding travelers through the magical Forest of Ennyar. A few months before, she’d been entrusted with taking a very special egg across the forest. The last magical water dragon has now hatched. As Juliane and the dragon will learn, a dark energy is rising in the forest, but not all is as it seems. Friendship and courage will be required to face the unknown, and help save magic.

The Witch, the Cat and the Water Dragon was superb! Delightful! It kept our interest till the last page….we are awaiting the next adventure! The images showed to us the faces of the heroes and supplemented the story perfectly. It is a very positive read for the young ones. Full of positive messages towards the earth, the animals, the environment, the family, friendships etc. Excellent vocabulary, the book can easily be read by kids that are learning English. We enjoyed it very much. We read it in one day, so we could find out what would happen in the end. Wish you all the best with the new book!

I read both of Joanne’s first two books to the children “The Witch and the Egg” and “Kaptain Vamp”. The children in Kindercare daycare are between the ages 5-11 and all have enjoyed these books and look forward to the sequels.
In May, we read “The Witch, the Cat, and the Water Dragon” and the children were equally enthralled. As an educator, I felt the excitement of the children and their interest in the book as I read it each morning before school in our daycare program. I would always try to leave a cliff hanger as there were many and they could not wait to get back to the book the next day to find out what happens.

In reading the manuscript for The Witch, the Cat and the Dragon, I liked how the storyline flowed well. Suggest that you leave some parts unresolved at the end to keep the reader thinking about the story afterwards.
