Joanne has delivered 3 workshops to our students and always leaves them wanting more. They (the students) want to know when she will be back and what they will be doing. In May 2012, we asked her to give her “Exploring Dialogue” workshop which really appealed to our students because of the cartoon element. Creating comic strips was a perfect idea to spark the imagination and explore dialogue. The students were so engaged in the comic strip creation that even after they spent two hours sitting down, working at it, they still asked to continue in the afternoon. Some even planned to write a few more “books”. Joanne is warm and extremely approachable and the students can sense these traits. They listen to what she has to say without interruption and value her opinions and suggestions.
